There is now no longer a need to run dedicated Servers for dedicated tasks such as email, data storage, databases and others due to Virtualisation technology. In essence, this means one physical Server can now run a number of virtual Servers thereby reducing your power requirements and support costs.

Also, don't forget that with less Servers you have less storage and cooling needs, not to mention the noise reduction.

Whilst very feasible and with many benefits, it must be commissioned using technical strategies with the future very much in mind.
